| The existing mosque in Bull Lane |
Last year Muslim leaders behind the mosque were forced to pull plans for a site in Bull Lane after the Environment Agency said it would be vulnerable to flooding.
The original mosque was to be three storeys high and cost £2 million. The new design has been ‘downsized’ and will not feature minarets or a dome.
Last year an online petition to stop construction of the mosque attracted nearly 800 signatures.
